The object is a two-storey building without cellar and with attic rooms. The object has a floor plan of an incomplete octagon with a roofless central courtyard. The structure spans 36 meters at its widest dimension and the maximum height reaches almost 12 meters. The individual segments are covered by mono-pitched roof with 27° slope. The main loadbearing elements are constructed of glued laminated timber and solid timber with steel joints and gypsum fibreboard cladding. The loadbearing structure is designed and assessed in accordance with relevant standards, taking ultimate and serviceability limit state into consideration. The thesis includes an engineering report including bill of quantities, structural design report and drawings of loadbearing structure, anchorage and selected details.
The Roofing of the Sport Hall
Štelc, Martin ; Sýkora, Karel (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the drafting and assessment of timber structures, the single-roof sports facility to span 40 meters for the Brno locality. Hall dimensions are 40 x 52.5 m. A height of the hall is 16 m sports hall is designed for most sports played indoors. The supporting part of the roof is designed as an arch structure made of glued laminated wood. The structure is made up of cross-linking - triple joint arches distance of 3.5 m. Arches are connected by purlins. Stability is ensured by placing four fields bracing.
The sport hall in Luhačovice
Mudrák, Štěpán ; Barnat, Jan (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and assess a timber structure roof of a sport hall. The building is located to Luhačovice, Zlín district. Ground plan dimensions are 35 × 55 m, the height is 12 m. The main bearing element is created by a bent plate girder, that function as a double-hinge arc. The structural material includes glued laminated timber, solid timber and connecting steel elements. Spatial stability of structure is ensured by purlins and lateral steel stiffeners. The substructure is designed as strip foundations and anchor block made from concrete. Gable walls are supported by columns and horizontal lintels.
Timber structure of a multipurpose garden house
Hoffmannová, Zdislava ; Barnat, Jan (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is a design of a timber structure of a multipurpose garden house. The ground floor of the house serves as a garage, the attic serves as a playroom for children. The building is located in Letohrad in Pardubice Region. Structural system is a timber framed structure which has been created as a spatial bar model in CADKON+ 2017 software. The internal forces have been calculated in SCIA Engineer 18.1 software using the linear static analysis. These forces have been used to design structural elements. Final results have been partially verified by hand calculations. Solid timber of C24 quality has been chosen as a proper material.
Wooden structure of a hall for cultural and social purposes
Dlouhá, Markéta ; Balázs, Ivan (referee) ; Bukovská, Pavla (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design and assessment of a load-bearing wooden structure of a hall for cultural and social purposes, which is located in the town Prostějov. The ground plan dimensions of the construction are 40×25 metres and the height of the construction is 10 metres. The structure is covered with a green saddle roof with 10° inclination. A main load-bearing system is constructed of transverse frames from truss girders and columns made of a glued laminated timber. The axial distance of the frames is 4 metres. The roof construction is completed by purlins. The transmission of loads in longitudinal direction and the spatial rigidity of the structure are secured by the system of bracing. These elements are designed from a solid timber.
The structure of a sport hall
Bednár, Michal ; Štrba, Michal (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and assess the structural design of a timber multipurpose sport hall. The location of the proposed construction is located in Hodonín. The design of dimensions of the structure are 36 m x 55 m and a height of 10.8 m. The main beams are full-walled arch frames made of glued laminated wood. From a static point of view, this is a double-articular frame. The construction consists of a lumber of laminated wood, and steel fasteners. The stability in the longitudinal direction is secured by bonded laminated wood purging, and by steel transverse stiffeners. The bottom construction of the structure is solved by means of concrete feet into which it is anchored. The gages are made of grown wood, made up of columns and chils.
The Roofing of The Multipurpose Building
Vojta, Radek ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
Aim of bachelor thesis was to design and assess timber framework of roofing multipurpose building. The building will be situated in Trebic. Ground plan dimensions of the building are 80.6 × 54.5 m and building height is 17.1 m. The building will have a curved shape with a radius of 30 m. The structure is designed from glued laminated timber, solid timber and steel connecting elements. Substructure will be solved by concrete anchor blocks on foundation strips. The main supporting element are trusses which statically acting as a double-jointed arches. Stability of trusses is securing by purlins together with bracings. Bracings are composed of four fields of cross bracings and longitudinal bracings. Gable walls will consist of columns with braces.
The Roofing of the Sport Hall
Stehlíková, Iveta ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
The goal of this diploma thesis is designed and reviewed the roof of the timber construction of sports structure, the span is 50 m and the length is 90 m. The design of the structure is located in Ústí nad Orlicí. The shape of the hall is arc sector. The structure is designed from glue laminated timber, solid timber and steel load bearing elements. The main load bearing elements are truss girders, which static function as two hinged arch. The stability of the girders is ensured by purlins, transverse stiffeners and longitudinal stiffeners. The stiffeners are situated in five fields. Front sides are made by girts and truss columns.
The Roof Structure of a Multipurpose Sport Building
Malchárek, Robert ; Barnat, Jan (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
The subject of the Diploma thesis is a design wooden structures of a multipurpose sport building in Šumperk. The floor plan measurements of the building are 45,0 x 48,0 m with the maximum height 15,0 m. The solution is choosen on the basis of two variants. The structures is designed with respect to ultimate and serviceability limit states. The multipurpose sport building is consist of 13 main truss centre to centre spacing 4,0m. The main structural system is design as the three-hinged arched structure made of solid timber and in the second variant as the arched structure made of glue laminated timber. The spatial rigidity of the structure is secured of diagonal bracing. The roofing is carried by rafter which are safed by purlin and then by upper chord. The steel columns are design as a part of gable wall. The project was carried out in the scia Engineer 2014 software. Some of the particular elements both variants were checked and designed by manualy calculating. The thesis includes structural design report, joints structures, drawings and production drawing the element of the three-hinged arched structure.
